Just as a baby doesn’t have control over the time and circumstances of her birth, so God chose when to regenerate you and bring you to faith in Christ. Even after a child is born, she cannot choose to grow or not to grow. She may wish to be taller or shorter, but wishing won’t make it so. In the same way, we are not in control of the process of our spiritual growth. The God who has started a good work in us will bring it to completion
